TOWARDS A GLOBAL RESPONSE TO UNMET HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE NEEDS OF OLDER PEOPLE
This PhD project will work to the policy objectives of the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing with a specific focus on measuring and understanding the unmet needs for health and social care among older persons. This project is nested within a global consortium of experts working toward methods for measuring and monitoring unmet needs of older persons (CARETRACK).
The specific aims of the project are:
1. To measure unmet needs for health and social care within a large population sample of older people in Australia, the NSW 45 and Up Study.
2. To undertake a comparative and ethnographic review of measures of unmet need for health and social care.
3. To calibrate measures of unmet need for health and social care in different geographic, health care and cultural settings.
4. To undertake systems and policy level analysis of drivers of unmet care needs in different geographic, health care and cultural settings.
